Center for Adult Education Cancellation Policy

Policy/Prorating – Cancellations or changes in your class schedule are allowed without a penalty up to 1 week before your class begins. Cancellations or changes within 1 week prior to the start of your class will be assessed a $10.00 fee and any applicable supply/food fee and you will be issued a credit slip. No refunds or credit slips will be given on or after the 1st day of class.

Tech/Computer Class Cancellation Policy - Cancellations or changes in your class schedule are allowed without a penalty up to 1 week before your class begins. After that time no refunds or credit slips will be issued.

Body/Fitness/Aquatics Class Cancellation/Changes Policy - Cancellations or changes in your class schedule are allowed without a penalty up to 1 week before your class begins. Cancellations or changes within 1 week prior to the start of your class will be assessed a $10.00 fee and any applicable supply/food fee and you will be issued a credit slip. No refunds or credit slips will be given on or after the 1st day of class. Effective August 1, 2011: No prorating will be given for any Body/Fitness/Aquatics classes. Once the session begins, if you miss a class(es), you may attend any Edina Center for Adult Education fitness class as a make-up for the missed class(es). Some exceptions may apply (i.e. Kettlebells). A pay-per-time, walk-in rate is also available.

Family Center Cancellation Policy


Summer - 2012 - For all cancellations prior to May 16, 2012, a non-refundable $5.00 registration fee will be charged for all ECFE Book Buddies Classes, Kindergarten Camp and Block Time. No refunds are given after May 16, 2012.

2012-2013 School Year - Cancellations must be received in writing or by email by May 7, 2012 to receive a full tuition refund. Registration fees are nonrefundable. For one Day Classes a $50.00 cancellation fee will be applied beginning May 7, 2012. For Multiple Day Classes one month's tuition is nonrefundable beginning May 7, 2012.

K Plus Cancellation Policy

Cancellations are required to be made in writing. Credit/Debit card accounts will be charged each month for the contracted amount due. No reductions will be made for absences. Enrollment in K Plus (All Day K) will be terminated and the account may be turned over to collections if Edina Community Education Services is unsuccessful in collecting the monthly tuition.

KIDS Club/WISE Guys/SURGE Cancellation Policy

All requests for changes/cancellation of scheduled day(s) must be in writing. Requests need to be received at least 5 business days prior to the effective date of the change/cancellation. Days cancelled without a 5 business day notice will require full payment. Parent will receive confirmation of change/cancellation. The change/cancellation fee is $15 per written notice to change/cancel day(s). No reductions in fees will be made for absences. Enrollment will be terminated and the account may be turned over to collections if KIDS Club/WISE Guys/SURGE is unsuccessful in collecting the monthly tuition.

Youth Programs Cancellation Policy


Policy/Prorating – Cancellations or changes in your class schedule are allowed up to 5 business days before your class begins. Cancellations or changes after 5 business days prior to the start of your class will be assessed a $10.00 cancel fee and the course supply fee and you will be issued a credit slip. No prorating refunds or credit slips will be given on or after the first day of class. No refunds will be given due to inclement weather. Most classes are not prorated. Call us at 952-848-3950 and leave a message on our 24-hour Cancellation/Change Line (press 2) including name, phone number and course number. Although most classes run, we reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment.

If We Cancel a Class – We do not like to cancel any class, but because each class is self-supporting, we must establish a minimum enrollment and cancel those classes that do not meet this minimum. Cancellation decisions are usually made one week prior to the first class session. If we must cancel your class, you will be notified by phone or email. You may transfer into another class or we will issue a refund.

Late Pick-up – Parents arriving later than 5 minutes after the end of class will be charged $1 per minute.

Weather Related Cancellations

Most Edina Community Education classes are held in school buildings. If the school district closes early due to bad weather, this affects all school related events, including Community Ed classes. Rescheduling and/or refunds will be determined on a class by class basis.
